When a small laboratory went up for sale in Katherine in 2008, Luke Myall moved from Darwin to Katherine and purchased the business.
HiQA was essentially a one-man show that kept Luke very busy during that first year. Now, nearly 10 years on, in 2017 HiQA have expanded their capabilities by opening a new NATA accredited Asphalt Testing Laboratory in Darwin, and have also opened a new Concrete, Soil and Aggregate testing laboratory in Tennant Creek.
For the first time, Northern Territory construction, defence and mining industries have access to a construction materials testing operation that conducts in-house assessments for road projects, from investigation to sealing, with HiQA’s Asphalt testing lab in Northern Australia officially opened for business on July 1 2017.
The facility is the largest independent testing laboratory of its kind in Northern Australia. Expansion to such a large testing scope means clients can conduct quality assurance activities on all asphalt and bitumen products. HiQA services include concrete sampling and testing, aggregate sampling and testing, soil sampling and testing, asphalt and bitumen sampling, environmental sampling and testing, pavement investigations and geotechnical field investigations. HiQA are proud to work with clients to determine testing timeframes to meet the requirements of individual projects.
With a strong commitment to achieving successful project outcomes, timely delivery and accurate results, HiQA’s new Asphalt Laboratory is NATA accredited for a wide range of tests under AS 2891.
The laboratory launch comes after HiQA Geotechnical won the 2017 Telstra Northern Territory Business of the Year in July 2017, with HiQA’s James Acton, also taking out the Rae Snodgrass Apprentice of the Year at the Civil Contractors Federation NT Earth Awards in June.
HiQA is located at 1/6 Wedding Road, Tivendale, NT and . For further information, please contact Luke Myall on phone 08 8947 4802 or visit http://hiqa.com.au/request-a-quote/
