ICN assisting Industry to export Australian expertise
A phosphate mine in Vietnam recently undertook an expansion of its operations; to secure the best matched engineering services for their project they agreed to explore expertise globally.

ICN Victoria was approached by Tradestart, an initiative of Austrade requesting assistance to identify export capable Australian companies that could assist with the phosphate mine expansion. Utilising ICN’s extensive database, ICN Gateway, and ANZ network, several companies were determined to be suitable for this application.

ICN identified LogiCamms, an ASX listed engineering, project delivery and asset performance services company with 650 staff in ANZ and operating in the minerals and metals, hydrocarbons and infrastructure sectors. LogiCamms' phosphate experience met the criteria to tender for this export project.

ICN successfully connected LogiCamms to the opportunity in Vietnam and worked with additional agencies and networks to facilitate successful outcomes. Following a trade mission to Vietnam in early 2013 and numerous meetings since, LogiCamms secured a contract to conduct a feasibility study on mined ore and its suitability to become feed stock for a phosphoric acid plant.

Grant McHenry Logicamms' Group General Manager, Minerals & Metals says, ”ICN plays a role in our local and international pursuits. As a result of connecting with key ICN people, LogiCamms became aware of a particular opportunity in Vietnam around phosphates - one of the company’s core areas of knowledge. ICN was the first to know about the opportunity and actively brought together additional agencies and networks to understand the client’s needs, make contact and build trust.”

LogiCamms recognises ICN’s commitment to successful outcomes and highly professional approach to relationships, and looks forward to continuing the association with ICN in future with Grant McHenry saying; “Without the introduction from ICN liaising with the other networks, it is highly likely that this opportunity would have gone to other foreign organisations. Now it becomes revenue into Australia. I am proud to say the ICN and Austrade staff have been pro-active in helping us achieve this.”

ICN matches local capability with business opportunity, assisting with importation and creating jobs for SMEs throughout Victoria. If you would like to become involved in any of the vast opportunities we have available please visit www.icnvic.org.au or phone 03 9864 6700.
