SPEAKERS

 

Kym Ross | Deputy Director | SRL Authority

Kym Ross is a solutions-oriented Project Director with twenty-five years of experience working within both the public and private sectors. Kym is currently the SRLA Package Director for the Initial and Early works and is responsible for the successful delivery of SRLA’s first package of works. A strong believer in the power of positive thinking in the workplace, Kym uses his positive attitude to encourage others to work hard and succeed. In his free time, Kym likes to play golf and spend time with his family.

David Capps | Project Director | Laing O’Rourke

David is a Project Director with a track record of developing and delivering major infrastructure projects. He joined Laing O’Rourke in 2017 to support development and delivery of major projects under collaborative contract models.
David’s latest projects include Development Director within the South Eastern Program Alliance (SEPA – an Alliance between Laing O’Rourke, Metro Trains Melbourne, Jacobs and LXRP, 11 years in the United Arab Emirates and Qatar managing the delivery of new building and infrastructure projects and most recently he was Area Delivery Manager within KBR’s Programme Management Consultant team on the USD 35 billion Expressway Programme in Qatar. He has also been a mentor within LXRP’s Women in Transport Mentoring Program since 2019.

Aaron Osment | Commercial Manager | Laing O’Rourke

Aaron is a Senior Commercial manager with overall accountability for commercial strategy, procurement process, financial management, cost management, change process and reporting on the Initial and Early Works. He has worked in Laing O’Rourke for over 10 years across various projects in Australia and the United Kingdom.
His most recent project was the Osborne North Delivery Project (ONDP), Future Submarines Program in Adelaide SA, where he served as the 2IC to the Project Leader, assisting in key strategy and establishing processes to ensure compliance. This experience and skillset are directly transferable to SRL throughout both initial planning and into delivery. As a chartered surveyor Aaron prides himself on his professionalism and is always looking to help new construction professionals join the industry and reach their potential.

Peter Bolanis | Senior Procurement Manager | Laing O’Rourke

Peter is a highly qualified engineer with over 15 years’ experience in senior commercial, procurement management roles with major local and multinational organisations in the construction, infrastructure and manufacturing industries. Peter’s recent project experience includes various forms, from D&C, PPP, and Managing Contractor for projects such as the Victorian comprehensive Cancer Centre, WestConnex and the West Gate Tunnel Project,  managing complex procurement, covering end-to- end procurement of direct and indirect commodities of up to $2.4B spend. Experienced in formulation and executing strategies, engaging and developing the supply chain, while maximising value and minimise risks.

Emily Trevaskis | People Lead  | Laing O’Rourke

Emily Trevaskis has over 15 years’ experience in Human Resources, Social Outcomes and Industrial Relations and worked on various major projects within Victoria in the roads and rail space. Emily has a background in driving social outcomes on major projects to not only exceed targets but try to leave positive employment and social legacies within the construction regions that the project operates.

Miranda Campbell | State Lead Victoria-Tasmania | Social Traders

Miranda Campbell is the State Lead for Victoria and Tasmania with Social Traders. She drives connections between Social Traders members, to unlock and embed social value in supply chains, and strengthen the social enterprise sector. Miranda is completing a Masters of Social Impact with the Centre for Social Impact at Swinburne, and is passionate about blending business and purpose, and transforming lives through the power of social procurement.

Ronnie Webster | Demonstration Project Manager | Apprenticeships Victoria

Ronnie is the Demonstration Project Manager for the Department of Education and Training | Major Projects | Apprenticeships Victoria and has been in this role for the past year. He has come from recent roles as the Manager of Business Growth at Victoria University and Senior Industry Engagement Advisor at Chisholm Institute and brings 30+ years’ experience across Manufacturing, Engineering, Automotive and Nuclear Plant operations to the job in helping businesses nurture the growth and potential of apprentices of today.
