About the Project
Development Victoria is leading the upgrades to Ballarat’s Mars Stadium and the Ballarat Major Events Precinct as part of the Victorian Government’s Regional Sports Infrastructure Program.

The upgrades will include:

  • 5,000 new permanent seats, raising the seated capacity to 10,000
  • Accessibility improvements.

Additionally, the broader Ballarat Major Events Precinct will also be boosted with a brand-new athletics track and pavilion (situated south of Mars Stadium) which will be the new home for the Ballarat Regional Athletics Centre.

These enhancements, in partnership with the City of Ballarat, align with the city’s vision for a world-class sporting hub.
