Dianne Smith |
Dianne has been the CEO of ICN Victoria since November 2020. Prior to ICN, she was Chief Executive of the Melbourne Chamber of Commerce, and Chief Executive of the Victoria Tourism Industry Council.
Dianne is passionate about supporting local businesses and community, especially in regional areas, and has had extensive experience in the tourism and events sector. She is also the Deputy Chair of Puffing Billy Railway. |
Kane Thornton |
Kane Thornton is Chief Executive of the Clean Energy Council, the peak body for the renewable energy and energy storage industry in Australia. He has more than a decade’s experience in energy policy and leadership in the development of the renewable energy industry and advocates for and helps design the policies that have been critical to the renewable energy industry’s growth.
His previous roles include senior manager and advisor for Hydro Tasmania and executive officer of Renewable Energy Generators Australia. Kane has broad international management experience and has held a range of advisory and board roles with government and non-government organisations in the climate change and energy sector, and is Deputy Chair of Sustainability Victoria. |
Phil Gurney Director of Clean Economy, Breakthrough Victoria |
Dr Gurney is the Director, Clean Economy at Breakthrough Victoria, an independent company that manages the $2 billion investment fund set up by the Victorian Government to make Victoria a global innovation leader.
Phil leads the clean economy portfolio, managing BV’s investments into emerging companies and technologies in the cleantech sector. He brings over 25 years’ experience at senior levels of commercial and R&D management, with a career spans a diverse range of sectors, including CEO roles in companies in energy, health, IT and telecommunications. |
Michael Renehan CEO, Gaia EnviroTech |
Michael is an experienced chemical engineer who has held multiple senior executive roles within the oil and gas, waste-to-energy and agricultural sectors. He has both a Master of Engineering and an MBA, and has been CEO of Atofina, Murray Irrigation and Namoi Cotton.
He has worked in the renewable energy sector with extensive experience in technical-orientated start-ups, and established best-practice wastewater treatment facilities across Australia, including an award-winning Wastewater to Tree Farm Project in Geelong, Victoria. Michael is a Graduate of the AICD and brings a wealth of experience in setting up the governance framework for new companies that require strong board oversight. |
