For more than 30 years, ECS International Securities & Investigations has been helping clients with a range of security needs – from armed patrols to security solutions, access controls, CCTV, risk assessments, site audits and more.
The Supply Nation certified company also supplies intelligence reports to both private and government clients with relation to drug cartels and other security risks.
Established in 1990, ECS has offices in Sydney, Canberra and Suva, Fiji, and works with clients throughout Australia, New Zealand and the Asia Pacific rim.
“We are very well versed in the local region,” Manager Diplomatic Protection Riz Akbar said.
“We provide manpower like security guards, bodyguards, close personal protection guards, armed guards if required. And we provide night patrols with vehicles,” he said.

Outside of manpower, it also provides clients with high-tech electronic security systems.
“We do a lot of narcotics detection as well, we have cameras and devices that bio-detect narcotics, do people counting, detect explosives etc,” Riz said.
Their wide range of security services don’t stop there.
“We do investigation services. We search for missing persons. We can do surveillance on people watching for commercial fraud or criminal activity,” Riz said.
Its impressive client list includes the Federal, New South Wales and ACT Governments, local council and blue-chip companies such as Lendlease.
It counts some notable events on its resume, such as providing security at the Sydney Olympics Games and offering close personal protection for President Bill Clinton’s visit to Australia.

With 34 years of experience, and an extensive portfolio of experience, ECS has turned to ICN to tap new markets.
“About 80% of our work is with the government and in key major projects. ICN is a real area of interest for us because that is where major infrastructure projects are,” Riz said, adding that ECS has wide experience with construction projects, including transport corridors and water facilities.
It joined ICN as a premium subscriber post-COVID to address the marketing challenges the pandemic exposed.

“We have never had a marketing person. The Board has tasked me to take the company to the next level and ICN was one of the most appropriate tools as it reflects exactly what we do,” Riz said.
It’s most recent win via the ICN Gateway was to provide security services to Martinus for the Albury to Parkes stage of the Inland Rail Project.

Its scope included:

  • preparing a security management plan that complied with both the Rail Safety National Law and Work Health and Safety legislatio
  • undertaking a security risk assessment in collaboration with the project team and recording the results of the assessment in the project’s risk register
  • managing project security Management
  • providing mobile patrols of railway corridor and stops, as well as onsite roaming guards
  • electronic security services.
