Welcome to the February newsletter
For the last year, it seems that all anyone has talked about is COVID-19. Around the world it is affecting every individual and business in some way.
For many countries, hard restrictions have been put in place – and are still affecting communities.
Whilst this global pandemic has seen great challenges, it has also seen amazing stories of resilience, courage, innovation and adaptability.
For businesses, the implementation of new processes, connecting with people and other companies around the world, the implication of restrictions and market access, along with the opportunities to do new business, is not possible without the people that work within those companies.
Businesses with good customer relationships and a culture that values innovation, flexibility and adaptability have proven their ability to pivot quickly to new markets and new customers, adjusting to the changing conditions and requirements.
Building the right culture within your business can help you grow, attract and retain good employees, enabling them to feel valued and perform their best at work.
Each company and team has a unique culture, and there is no one-size-fits-all. Different cultures will also suit different functions – for example the team that maximises the return from an existing product or service with a well-established market will need to have a different culture from the team that explores new innovations and tests new ideas.
An organisation that outlasts the ups and downs of its external environment will need people that can adapt as needs change – not only upskilling to meet digital transformation requirements, but also pivoting to changing customer needs, and understanding their customers well enough to meet their requirements before their customers even know what they may need.
In a year that has seen many challenges, building the right culture within your business is a key enabler to not only growing your company, but also ensuring its longevity. It takes time, but it’s worth it!
