From humble beginnings working from his kitchen bench to opening 3 branches around Australia. Sole Trader, Pat Whitehead founded Plumbing NT (AKA Plumbing Maintenance Services AUS) in 2010, after realising a great demand in the NT for quality commercial and residential plumbing. Plumbing NT has grown substantially over the last 11 years and proudly employs 17 local Territorians, 4 of which are apprentices and 4 of those are indigenous.

Plumbing Maintenance Services AUS has grown exponentially off their high-quality service delivered throughout the territory and has branched into QLD and soon SA and VIC, whilst maintaining a Darwin-based head office. The majority of their business comes from word of mouth due to their large commercial client base and outstanding customer service focus and execution.

Plumbing Maintenance Services conducts all facets of Plumbing and Gasfitting. From 24/7 emergency response plumbing, residential and commercial plumbing maintenance, defence and private sector new plumbing construction and procurement including Civil Plumbing.

They have achieved many milestones over the years with the completion of many standout projects, their largest being numerous high-density residential water main replacements.Their continued success has allowed them to complete over 3500 individual jobs per year along with many medium to large hydraulic projects such as;

Darwin International Airport

Bay 1 to 4 Apron Upgrade on federal land – Hydraulics for Antoun.

BARPA Office Fitout/Refurb

Including all hydraulics and bathroom amenities upgrades to government facilities.

Casuarina Health Services Centre & Malak Shops

Contracted to complete hydraulics upgrade G, 1 & 2 levels and shop fit-outs.

Coolalinga Medical Centre

Plumbing NT has restructured the business to suit their business model and have put in place the right people, processes and behaviours to deliver these works. They’ve recently employed a national operations manager, Project Supervisors and a Project Administrator and National Plumbing Operations Manager to facilitate their way of doing business in the NT with the focus being on large hydraulic project works.

Pat says “After many painstaking hours, we’ve managed to deliver a new overarching ISO accreditation which is a management system that covers Quality, Safety and Environmental. This has afforded us to provide a streamlined approach to all works and has improved our ability in responding to any regulatory and statutory compliances. It has been a significant change for the business and our staff and has been well received amongst the company, staff and everyone apart of this positive initiative”.

Pat and the team are also great supporters of local businesses, not for profit organisations and junior sporting clubs. They are currently the sponsor for the Olympic soccer club and are major sponsors of the Pints Junior football club. With their support, the Pints football club were able to offer Junior players free registration.
