Woodside Energy plans to process up to 3 million tonnes of Scarborough gas via its existing Pluto Train 1.
The Pluto Train 1 Scarborough Modifications Project involves modifying the existing Pluto Train 1 facility to enable it to process Scarborough gas.
Woodside has selected Bechtel (Western Australia) Pty Ltd and Kellogg Brown and Root Ltd to perform Front End Engineering Design (FEED) services through 2022 under a dual FEED arrangement.
Subject to applicable regulatory and joint venture approvals, the project is expected to start in 2023.
The Scarborough field is the Carnarvon Basin, about 375 km off the coast of Western Australia. It’s being developed through new offshore facilities connected by some 430 km of pipeline to a second LNG train (Pluto Train 2) at the existing Pluto LNG onshore facility.
Late last year, Woodside announced a final investment decision for the Scarborough Project.
“Woodside is working with the FEED contractors to maximise opportunities for local, regional and Western Australian businesses across the supply chain, including Indigenous participation opportunities,” ICN consultant Ray Loh said.
A number of EOIs are now closed, but new packages are expected to be released over time.
