Hello,
August was a busy month for ICN; our office was humming with plenty of work packages underway for projects planned next year and an industry event seemingly every night of the week.
At the beginning of the month, I was fortunate enough to attend Facing North in Canberra, representing local industry and promoting the diverse pipeline of major project opportunities in planning for the coming years. All the presentations had a strong and optimistic view of the Territory, which was often balanced with the realities of supply chain, skills and housing issues, proving to be significant roadblocks for industry nationwide.
It was also great to attend the Master Builder’s Builders Excellence in Building and Construction (EBC) Awards for 2023, where ICN sponsored two award categories:
- Civil/Infrastructure Awards – Over $25 million – awarded to Tiwi Partners for the Delamere Air Weapons Range Stimulus Funding Works Project; and
- Civil/Infrastructure Awards – Under $10 million – awarded to Advance Civil Engineering for the Adelaide River Floodplains Upgrades Stage 2 – Beatrice Hill Bridge Construction Project
Congratulations again to Tiwi Partners, Advance Civil Engineering and all other nominees and awardees, and of course, Master Builders NT for their continued advocacy and support they provide the construction industry.
With one of the busiest months of the year now behind us and the shallowing of industry events on the horizon, the end of the dry season is now in sight. Our team is heavily engaged in the scoping of work opportunities for next year. I’d encourage all of our business users to ensure their profile is accurate and to take the time to come in and chat with us about the pipeline of incoming work.
Regards,
Daniel McCormick
