TRACKS Indigenous Services was created to maximise the benefits of Indigenous employment for individuals and businesses across the Northern Territory. Borne out of a dinner party conversation between friends, TRACKS is fast becoming the Territory’s agency of choice in its ability to provide the best Indigenous workforce solutions for businesses, large and small.

TRACKS stands for Training and Recruitment giving Aboriginal Careers a Kick Start. Certified as an Indigenous business with Supply Nation, TRACKS provides the full range of recruitment, labour-hire, human resource management, consulting and contracting services. As a generalist recruitment company specialising in Indigenous employment, just over 50% of TRACKS’ job candidates placed in work to date have been Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander.

According to its Managing Director, Nicole Thompson, TRACKS is very grounded in the Northern Territory.  “We are establishing local networks and relationships to source qualified Indigenous job candidates, not only from the larger labour markets in Darwin and Alice Springs but also in smaller regional and remote communities”. “We understand, and are well equipped, to meet the challenges and reap the opportunities of recruiting local talented job candidates”, Nicole said.

Doing business in the Northern Territory is different from elsewhere, according to Nicole. “We pride ourselves in being able to work with our business clients to deliver the highest standard of recruitment and human resource management support tailored to their individual needs,” she said.

TRACKS is developing a range of innovative products and services, to build a future talent pipeline and make it easier for businesses to employ local Indigenous people.

“We are passionate about supporting businesses committed to increasing the workforce participation of Indigenous people”, Nicole said. “We are equally passionate about pursuing every possibility to build the capabilities and competitiveness of Indigenous people to take up these opportunities.”

TRACKS uses its premium ICN membership to connect with opportunities.

“When RFTs go out, we see who they have been issued to. We can contact them directly to capitalise on the opportunities for working together.”

Being on the front foot is working for TRACKS. From 2020-21, TRACKS has successfully managed labour-hire contracts to a total value of $1.84 million.
