What we do
ICN Victoria provides specialist industry and policy advice to help connect local business to project and networking opportunities within Victoria and throughout Australia.
We work closely with the Victorian Government in undertaking local capability and supply chain assessments to support and provide advice for policy.
ICN Victoria is responsible for managing end-to-end policy implementation activities, including monitoring and reporting.
Local jobs first
Local Jobs First (LJF) is about creating local jobs and opportunities for Victorian businesses and workers, ensuring they are given full and fair opportunity to compete for large and small Victorian Government contracts. It also focuses on sustained skills development. We administer the Policy on behalf of the Victorian Government.
Through this policy, Victoria has a strong mandate to drive local jobs and capability for Government-funded and supported major projects. These statistics from the Local Jobs First Annual Report show how effective this policy has been.
Our role and this policy could not be more important as Australia recovers from the effects of COVID-19, and the desire for sovereign capability has never been stronger.
