Budget 2021/22 – Creating Jobs, Caring for Victorians

ICN Victoria is pleased to see yesterday’s Victorian State Government Budget strengthen that which was delivered in November last year, through a focus on people and jobs.

As we continue to recover, ICN Victoria’s role has never been more critical. This Budget, again reinforces our mandate of administering the Local Jobs First Policy, maximising and encouraging local industry engagement, skills pipeline, and supporting local jobs and good job creation.

The funds committed, play to our State’s strengths, with a focus on education, skills development and transport, including the Next Generation Trams and X’Trapolis 2.0 trains, whilst understanding that people’s well-being must be prioritised.

“Through this Budget, of which Local Jobs First features heavily, Victoria has a strong mandate to drive local jobs and capability for Government-funded and supported major projects. Our role, and this policy could not be more important as Australia recovers, and the desire for sovereign capability has never been stronger,” said ICN Victoria CEO, Dianne Smith.
