Ali Wastie, Chief Executive Officer
City of Greater Geelong

Ali has nearly 20 years of experience in local government and the Victorian Public Service, having held a number of senior executive positions, including serving as CEO of the Bass Coast Shire Council for the past four-and-a-half years. She also chairs the Alpine Resorts Victoria board, and has previous leadership experience as a director at the City of Melbourne and Yarra Ranges Council.

Kevin Foard, Industrial Liaison & Mobilisation Lead
Hanwha Defense Australia

 

Kevin has more than 30 years experience working in a number of engineering and operations roles in the Automotive and Manufacturing sectors in Australia, Europe and Asia.
As the Industrial Liaison and Mobilisation Lead for Hanwha Defense Australia, Kevin is responsible for strengthening Australian manufacturing supply chains, increasing local content and exploring opportunities for industry to work with Hanwha and its partners, to deliver its defence programs.
Prior to joining Hanwha Defense Australia, Kevin spent the past decade developing and managing a network of 50 engineering and related businesses in his home location of Geelong to access new markets and win work across Australia.

Josh Pozzebon, Project Director
Built

Since joining Built in 2010, Josh has worked on numerous large-scale new build and refurbishment projects encompassing commercial, residential, retail, hotel, and heritage works as well as construction in live environments, including many in the CBD and near surrounds.
His collaborative style works to engender trust with client, consultants, and contractors alike, and to encourage great efficiencies from his team.
Josh strives to ensure critical day-to-day issues are managed as they arise, maintaining focus on safety, time, budget, and quality as central considerations. In addition, Josh’s bachelor qualifications in engineering are complemented by credentials as a Green Star professional ensuring the highest in ESD principles can be pursued on his projects.

Andrew Bradley, Senior Industry Liaison
ICN Victoria

Having joined ICN Victoria in 2007 as Grampians Regional Manager, Andrew is currently the Senior Industry Liaison, a position that is crucial to delivering the Victorian Government’s Local Jobs First Policy. Andrew has extensive experience in this field and works cross-functionally within ICN to ensure that all of our customers’ needs are met.
Maintaining and improving the level of Australian businesses with onshore operations acts as one of Andrew’s key motivators, which in turn involves regularly bringing together project owners, buyers, and suppliers from across the state to Help Local Win.

Moana Weir, Local Jobs First Commissioner

Moana Weir is the Local Jobs First Commissioner. As Local Jobs First Commissioner Moana works closely with government and industry to strengthen the participation of local industry and workers through Victorian Government procurement to support the delivery of economic and social benefits for Victorians.
Moana has over 20 years’ experience as a senior executive and officer in ASX listed technology companies including SEEK and REA (realestate.com.au), and across a range of industries including health as an executive at Bupa. She is an experienced lawyer and has also led businesses, including as the Acting MD of Bupa Dental.
In addition, Moana is an experienced non-executive director for over 10 years. She was the Chair of the Victorian Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commission in Victoria for 5 years until March 2022.

Kath Smith, Manager Industry Engagement
ICN Victoria

Katherine is an experienced and passionate public policy professional with a particular enthusiasm for Victorian industry and the role procurement can play in the growth of individual business as well as state-wide economic prosperity.
Most recently, Katherine was Manager of Industry Policy at the Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Here she was responsible for delivering the highly successful Victoria Summit – a thought leadership program working with over 300 industry leaders positioning Victoria to be the best place to live, learn and operate a business. During the COVID pandemic she helped thousands of small and medium sized businesses to access government support and recover successive lockdowns.
Prior to this she worked for the Federal Government in procurement and manufacturing policy development and implementation.

Hanwha Defense Australia was established in 2019 and is a division of Hanwha Corporation operating in Australia since 2005 in areas including mining equipment, logistics and sustainable energy. Hanwha Defense Australia had an initial focus on Land Systems and signed a contract with the Commonwealth of Australia to supply self-propelled artillery systems under LAND 8116, a $0.9 billion to $1.3 billion project.
They were recently announced as the down-selected preferred tenderer for LAND 400 Phase 3 to enter negotiations with Defence to supply the Redback Infantry Fighting Vehicle (IFV) to the Australian Army. Subject to successful negotiations and government approval, the IVFs will be manufactured in the Greater Geelong area of Victoria at the HDA Armoured vehicle Centre of Excellence.
