MEET OUR SPEAKERS
Penny Pickett Development Director, Corio Generation |
Penny has over 15 years’ experience in planning and project approvals in the marine and coastal sectors, including managing the project approvals and EIAs for leading international offshore wind developers. Having spent the last ten years working in offshore wind in the UK and Australia, Penny has extensive experience in the planning and development of complex marine infrastructure projects. Her experience includes leading the marine approvals process for the world’s largest offshore wind farms, Hornsea One (1.2 GW, operational) and Hornsea Two (1.8 GW, in construction), as well as the development strategy for the 6GW, 5,000km2 Hornsea Zone. An expert in navigating the complexities of project development, EIA and stakeholder relations for large infrastructure projects, Penny also held a key stakeholder and industry role in the UK; assisting governments to find pragmatic solutions to key consenting and development risks for offshore wind projects in the UK and Europe.
Prior to joining Corio, Penny led the RPS Environment & Renewables team as Project Director for the offshore approvals, EIA and marine ecology survey program for the Star of the South Offshore Wind Farm. |
Nicholas Stirling Supply Chain Manager, Corio Generation |
Nicholas is a procurement and supply chain professional with 11 years’ experience focused on metals and mining, industrial gases and energy projects. He has experience and technical skills in remote site supply chain development, procurement project management, and negotiation with state and local government. He has supported multiple feasibility studies for brownfield and greenfield mining operations projects with contract negotiation, supply chain reviews, project costings, and logistics support.
Prior to joining Corio, Nicholas worked in procurement, strategy and mergers and acquisitions roles with BHP, MMG Mining, International Airlines Group (UK), Newcrest Mining, and Air Liquide SA. He is a qualified lawyer. |

As ICN Victoria’s Gippsland Industry Adviser for the last six years, Colin is part of a team across Australia focussed on the delivery of over $20B of government and private projects covering energy, health, infrastructure and defence to mention a few.
Colin joined ICN Victoria in April 2017 after more than 38 years in the Victorian Power Industry, including 20 years as Engineering Manager at Victoria’s largest power station, Loy Yang A. Colin’s academic qualifications include a Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical), a Master of Engineering (Mechanical), a Master of Business Administration, and he is also the joint recipient of several Victorian Engineering Excellence awards. |
