Star of the South Offshore Wind Farm – Market Capability Scoping
Wednesday 7 September, 4pm AEST
Online

Local businesses can connect with future opportunities in Gippsland’s emerging offshore wind sector through a study now underway for Star of the South – Australia’s first proposed offshore wind project.

The first step to be involved is registering an Expression of Interest on the project’s ICN Gateway.

Proposed to be located off the Gippsland coast, Star of the South has the potential to supply up to 20% of Victoria’s electricity needs while creating jobs and investment. The project is expected to create up to 2,000 Victorian jobs across its lifetime, including 200 ongoing local jobs once it’s up and running.

This webinar will outline Star of the South’s current Expression of Interest process, which aims to understand Gippsland’s current and future capability to supply the offshore wind industry.

Businesses who complete an Expression of Interest may be featured in a market capability report and offshore wind local supplier directory, which will promote Gippsland, Victorian and Australian businesses to the global offshore wind supply chain.

This is the first time local market capability scoping has been done for offshore wind in Australia.
